Dr Melanie Clements MBBS FRCPCH
Melanie is the project sponsor for the Meds IQ project. As an experienced paediatrician from a District General hospital Mel is passionate about improving quality of care for children and Young People and reducing inequalities.
She is currently the interim medical director of the East Anglia Area team: prepared to move out of her comfort zone to improve her knowledge of issues across the whole health and care agenda and take opportunities to influence from a new angle. She is seconded from her role as the Clinical Director of the Maternity, Newborn, Children and Young people Strategic Clinical network one of the strategic networks set up by NHS England in April 2013. She has worked to engage with stakeholders in her local region and also played a role in connecting the networks with each other, working with the national clinical directors and other network members. Mel was the national clinical lead for the children and young people emergency and urgent care programme with the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement.
Mel has an appreciative style and enjoys linking people together to share good practice and learn from each other, this includes everyone from across the whole-pathway with patients and their families at the centre. She is passionate about innovation and thinking and doing things differently.
