November news: QI Central - Coming soon

Dear Meds IQ User,

We hope you are enjoying the beautiful autumn season.

We would like to share our big news with you: this is the last Meds IQ bulletin you will receive from us.

From next month, we will be migrating Meds IQ to a new site, called QI Central which, apart from medication safety will also feature other patient safety and quality improvement topics. Your next bulletin will thus feature a much wider range of topics, although medication safety will still be one of them.

Meds IQ Champion webinar - November 2018

On November 6th, we had a webinar for Meds IQ Champions featuring Medicines for Children team - Anna Rossiter (RCPCH) and Rachel Lane (Reason Digital) on the topic of  co-designing a new medicines safety app with patients and families.

In July 2018 the RCPCH Medicines for Children project was awarded funding and practical support from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation and Comic Relief's "Tech for Good" programme. Through this grant new technology will be sued to develop a tool to provide assistance to parents and carers managing complex medicines regimes at home.

QI Central

In December 2018, RCPCH is launching a new online Quality Improvement and Patient Safety hub – QI Central. The hub will feature user generated content – examples of quality improvement interventions in a variety of areas – very much like Meds IQ currently does. Specifically, the topic areas on the new hub will be:

  • Meds IQ
  • Patient Safety
  • Processes of Care
  • Patient Engagement

QI Central will have exactly the same features as Meds IQ – users will be able to submit their projects, build up content library and receive a regular bulletin.
